Most Helpful Customer ReviewsNutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 54-Ounce Containers (Pack of 2)

By Observant I Fresh, flavorful, and hexane-free
I've  tried a few different brands of extra virgin coconut, and for the most part, are pleased with them all the same. Despite the marketing hype, coconut oil are recorded in each category (virgin, refined, hydrogenated) are very similar. I would like to emphasize the qualities I look for in a coconut oil: I want an oil with a coconut flavor, coconut flavor and a rich, maximum nutrition and minimal processing. For these reasons, I always choose an organic, extra virgin olive oil.

I am pleased that this coconut oil Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin offers these qualities that can be easily found with a "bag on" and "best before" date. The vessels that I ordered in late January 2011 on September 13, 2010 wrapped, and "Best Before" date of September 13, 2012. With the storage (cold, dark, does not require refrigeration), this oil-rich nutrients is still fresh for two years. It smells and tastes very good condition - coconut and slightly sweet.

According to Nutiva, no hexane in the treatment of these oils will be used. Hexane is a solvent derived from petroleum used in all types of industrial applications, production of footwear on the roof. This is interesting because hexane is the primary molecular structure of carbon, can be transmitted as "organic". Do a little 'research, "cold pressing", "organic" or "hexane-free" are important considerations when choosing the coconut oil for food.

I am not so happy with the plastic containers. In fact, I took a star as a result of the film. I think the quality of bio-oil must be stored in a glass, dark and ideally to reduce oxidation. I actually coconut oil in particular because it has been selected to enter the vessels, and perhaps circumvented this product unless I can find for sale at a good price. I put this information in the criticism of those who are looking for a coconut oil in a pot to help. Of course, to that extent, you should prefer a plastic container to remove some weight, but for the purpose of storage, the glass may be the best.
